We're honored to welcome Staceyann Chin.

Staceyann Chin is an award-winning Jamaican-American poet, performer, author, and activist. A co-writer and original performer in the Tony Award-winning Def Poetry Jam on Broadway, she has performed and taught internationally. Her acclaimed memoir, The Other Side of Paradise, chronicles her journey growing up in Jamaica, coming out as lesbian, and seeking refuge in the United States. Her solo theater piece MotherStruck, directed by Cynthia Nixon and produced by Rosie O’Donnell, explores her journey to motherhood. A longtime advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, immigration justice, and social change, Chin continues to use her voice to challenge injustice and inspire transformation.

Together, we'll explore how we can build more welcoming communities for LGBTQIA+ newcomers while enjoying light bites.
